Inhaler - Foals
So when Foals drop their third album, ‘Holy Fire’, in February 2013 it could be one of the albums of the year; their second was easily one of the best of 2009. But what do you think of Inhaler, the new record’s first track?
Yannis Philippakis, singer, on the video: “It’s a lot to do with rhythm and basic movement. Dave took a lot of influence from Japanese Butoh dancing and there is an almost sinister air to it. It’s a very homegrown video. We really wanted to do a free and fun video that drew on our extended family that was in keeping with some of our previous videos. At one point we were playing and Dave just started shooting fireworks at us. It’s that kind of freedom that you wouldn’t normally get on a video, mainly because it’s illegal.”
